Update 4.0

Hey Guys Its Finally Here. The Update that you guys have all been waiting for. This update includes many things, including the repo. I had a-lot more things, that i would have liked to have added, but certain things couldn't be done, or haven't yet. I hope that you all enjoy this update and some of the new features. So now i will list out Every thing i have updated, and i will include the repo:

Updates:

-I have added a new sub-forum  titled- Virus Help, which this helped me get rid of multiple trojans, and i'm sure it will help you all with other virus related problems.

-I have Updated The Beta Source, which the only update are some roms, nothing real big... Updates are to come soon, for beta.

-I have recently Added a Moderator Application, which is on the forums, instead of downloading. And it has an easy access submit button.

-I have also recently added our site link up at the top, which is not finished yet, but has some announcements. I will have a new template soon for the site, and the forums, so don't worry about that.

-How To make a Repo Guide Update- I have added Videos to the guide, so that you can follow along with the videos and the written guide.  (P.s) ( Freewebs doesnt work for a repo) Also ( Googlepages has 100MB) Faq's

-I have also recently updated the rank icons, i updated the Moderator, super moderator, and developement. I have more to come, and i will add them soon.

-I have added a All-In-One Instant messenger, located at the bottom of every page, ignore the post, that says that title, That is just code"  ( There are words in black on the login of the I-M login, they say" Username, Password, and status" you can login to almost any instant messenger on this. Real easy.

-And the moment you have all been waiting for here is the repo Link:

Enclosure:  This repo does not contain all the roms, apps, and bios that we have. This is a start, and periodically we will add a ton of roms and apps. In 1 week, 100 roms  will be added, along with many apps.

It is crucial that you donate, we have 60$, and we have not hit our goal. Our short term goal is 100$, and if you want beta, and a lot of other things added to the repo, and requests, you will have to donate. This takes a lot of time, and the server cant handle all of this. Please consider that this after a while will be a free service. But not without support & donations.

I hope you enjoy this update, and in 1 week expect a new really cool update. And a repo update.

I will be out of town for the next week, and i may or may not be on the site. I will try to be if i can, but internet status is unknown. i will be back on friday or satuday of next week. Please keep the forums clean for the next week. and also tell people about the site, and spread the repo a little.

i have a few questions:
1) None of the ROMs download on my iPod(i already have GBA Bios and my iPod is firmware 1.1.3)
2) None of the emulators download
3) I cannot find the guide of how to use the repo
Is this something to do with me having firmware 1.1.3 or is there something going wrong with the repo? Please help me

yes, i believe that the roms are only working 1.1.2 and 1.1.1. I dont know how to fix that, due to the fact that i am on 1.1.2, and spizz, was also, and hes the one that did most of the work on the repo. Spizz and i will seek a solution to this problem. Sorry about the inconvenience.

Honestly you are better off jailbreaking 1.1.2, due to the fact that EVERY thing works on it. The only other thing i can think of is, you may need to change the permissions on FTP on your ipod.

Wow man. Great update. Repo looks pretty good. It will get alot better once we get some donations, and ill be donating again soon. But the forum is really going well. Already have about 230 members.

CHmod is just a way of changing the permissions of the rom to work. I would just downgrade to 1.1.2, its way more functional with everything.

i know this is a noob question but when i am in winscp how do i change the permissions of the roms to 755? i dont know how to because i cant even dowload them from installer in the first place.  is there a folder in winscp i should look in to find them? any help would be much appreciated.

When in winscp, you right click on the file, then click on properties. There you should see something called "permissions" and a littlte box next to it. Change then to 755.

yea but where do i find the roms in the folders once in winscp? will they not show up unless i download them or do i have to add them myself somehow?

if you are on 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 it will be in /var/root/Media/ROMs/systemNameAllCaps
if you are in 1.1.3 or 1.1.4 it will be in /var/mobile/Media/ROMs/systemNameAllCaps

ok guys i think what i have just done may have fixed the repo, report here and tell me if any of the SNES roms dont work or wont dl if they dont i kno the problem it just takes a long time and i'd rather do the short way that works.  I will add over 30 gba roms to the repo tommorow including many of the ones mentioned from the wanted section and more

GRRRRRRR..........Stupid googlepages has exceeded the bandwith......SUPER RETARDED GOOGLEPAGES....now we cant download anything!!! Its what we get for using FREE googlepages. No Offense. Are we getting the new server soon? Wish i could donate, but im 14 and poor!! I'll take donations, and than ill donate to tue site? lol

but it may work it says all it needs to do is cool down but we will get the server when we have enough donations we have around $60 now and need $100 for our short term goal.

if i try to download any rom from this source, it says "package download failed" immediately. is this bec i m on firmware 1.1.4 or is there still a problem with googlepages???

Its googlepages. Their server is so filled up.

Do the roms have to be on the same server as the repo? If they don't have to would could scrounge up a cheap computer
slap a server version of linux on there install a ftp client. Also there are a ton of $100 dell optiplex gx260/70s  slim towers.
Not the mini ones, but smaller than a standard tower.
As a matter of fact I'm using one right now. 2.4ghz p4 possessor and it takes up to 4gb of DDR RAM.
The only setback is with the slim ones there is only one hard drive bay unless you take out the floppy drive. But they're cheap.

There is plenty you can do krazedkid! We need more members because they might donate! So advertising would be cool! Tell your friends your schoolmates, etc..

hey guys i am back now... Well the server load is alot, which is something i said before i left for the week. we haven't gotten any donations since we hit 60$, and with that we may not be able to make the repo open to the public without constant errors. The new server is 100$/ month, with that, if you figure the 260 members, we only need 4 people donating 10$ a piece, or 8 people donating 5$. This is very easy to do. Its not that people have to pay to get a decent repo, its that in order to get it working properly we need to hit our goal. When we get our new server we will have all the roms possible on the repo, and all the possible applications and other things that we have to offer. but the issue is that googlepages cannot handle this, along with the fact that there aren't any other free services that would allow us to upload the repo to. I have searched for all the server hosts free and paid, and the only solution i am finding is

100$ for the mysql server, at least 8TB of space and bandwidth, and a few other features that we need. anything below this doe not offer all that we need to have a repo. Also we will probably have to use a offshore server, due to copyright laws in the US and canada, and a few other places.

I want do all that i can to help, but i do not have a job or a credit card. I am also still in school, and have a bitchy girlfreind LOL, but if i could pay and provide a server i would. But my Pc couldnt handle a server load.

We are in desperate need of donations. This was a similar case with the old website, but they had plenty of donations then, and we dont have the same member count... So please do what you can to help. At least try and attract more people to the site, so that they may be able to donate....

the repo should be opened only to beta testers as a way of getting people to donate. i know some people cant donate but out of the 250 members some people should be able to.

I'm going to try and donate once I get payed  
for loading ubuntu linux on a ppc mac mini.
Boy was that a hassle.

You know that this site isn't the true iROM Repository. iRom has been around for a longer time, and actually has a reliable repo.
