Irom Repo Forum Rules:

Spamming
*1 point/expires 60 days
Spamming is characterized by the initiation of threads or posts that contribute nothing to a forum, be it on or off topic. Examples: empty bodies, bodies with few words that have no relation to the current thread or discussion (messages such as "first post", "hello" or “hey so & so”), posts that state they are spam, bumping of old topics (without added contribution to the thread), multiple posts in a row, fad threads (such as who's better, rate me, or location), or low content posts (posts without meaning are unnecessary and unacceptable).

Prejudice Comments
*3 points/expires 60 days
Demeaning comments using race, religion, sexual orientation, culture, ethnicity, handicap, nationality, or gender as a means of insult are unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

Appropriate Forum
*1 point/expires 60 days
Keep all topics in their appropriate forums. If you're unsure of the proper location for your topic, post it in General Discussion. If you can’t locate a thread you've made, use the search feature as it might have been moved to a more appropriate forum by a moderator.

Redundant Threads
*1 point/expires 60 days
Before posting a thread, use the search feature to ensure there is not already a thread on the same topic. If there is already a thread, please use it as there may already be several replies with good information about your topic.

Thread/Post Recreation
*1 point/expires 60 days
If any post gets deleted or locked, do not make a thread identical or similar to the locked one, or make a thread asking why the previous was deleted or locked.

Bypassing Censors
*2 points/expires 60 days
Our forums are programmed with a list of words that are considered vulgar under any context, and these words are not allowed to be posted. Attempting to bypass the censor by misspelling, inserting spaces or symbols, transposing letters, using look-alike symbols, or any other method is not allowed. Additionally, certain words are prohibited from being used in topic titles and user information pages; bypassing the censor to post those words where they are restricted is also not allowed.

Sexually Explicit Content
*3 points/expires 60 days
Sexually Explicit Content is defined as sexually suggestive and/or nearly-nude images, links, or content that may be deemed inappropriate by Moderators or Administrators.

Illegal Activities
*3 points/expires 60 days
Posts that violate or incite others to violate the law are not allowed. This includes (but is not limited to) discussing, asking for or providing, in any way, shape, or form any of the following: Illegal copies of copyrighted software and related applications, methods of circumventing copyright protection, illegal copies of copyrighted media, methods of cheating in online games, or requesting/providing links/material from pornographic or obscene websites.

Advertising
*Minor offense-3 points/expires 60 days | Severe offense-Permanent Ban
Do not use Irom forums to advertise any products or services, specifically any services that would be in direct competition or draw users from Irom, or any links / images to sites that benefit yourself or outside representatives.

Posting of Personal Information
*1 point/expires 60 days
These issues are left to the discretion of the moderators and administrators, but may include pictures, addresses, phone numbers, or any material that is knowingly false, defamatory, misleading, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, racist, sexist, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy or that otherwise violates any law or encourages conduct constituting a criminal offense. This will also include posting of emails, IMs, PMs, Ticket System responses, or any other communications where at least one party had the impression of it being private.

Signature Limits
*1 point/expires 60 days
Maximum of 2 images. Images are defined as any hyperlinked image file

1. The maximum width of any image(s) is 480 pixels.
2. The combined image(s) cannot be larger than 175 pixels in height.
3. The total combined file size of these images cannot be larger than 800 KB.
4. Text within your signature cannot be larger than size 4.

The only exception to these rules are the small BB Code generated icons such as AIMLIGHT, SKYPELIGHT, or MSNLIGHT and also the small MLGPRO logo from our parent company. These small icons don't count toward the 2 image maximum. Abuse, in the opinion of the Moderators, can result in a forum infraction, or ultimately the loss of signature privileges.

Signature/Avatar Restrictions
*1 point/expires 60 days
Do not use signatures/avatars that request the banning/unbanning of users from ladders or forums, staff members to be fired, or utilize quickly flashing colors. All other forum posting rules apply to signatures. Abuse in the opinion of the Moderators, can result in a forum infraction, or ultimately the loss of signature privileges.

Report Post Feature
*1 point/expires 60 days
Using the report post button located within each post generates an email to the forum moderators / administrators. If you come across a post that you feel is violating any forum posting rules, feel free to use this feature, but keep in mind that abusing it will quickly get you this infraction, or ultimately banned from the forums.

Trolling / Intentional Trolling
*Minor offense 1 point/expires 60 days | Intentional offense 3 points/expires 60 days
Posts intended solely to annoy and/or offend other posters by going against the clear nature of a topic are not allowed. This includes but is not limited to provoking other users to respond with flames or provoking fans of a particular system or game. Continual harassing behavior directed towards a certain individual or group with the intent of creating an intimidating, offensive or hostile environment within the forums will not be tolerated. This will also include demeaning or derogatory comments directed towards Irom staff. If you have a complaint or an issue with a staff member or any aspect of the Irom site, submit a ticket to the appropriate staff member.

Flamming:
2 Points/expires 60 days

Famming is not to be tolerated, this is basicaly posting alot of posts in a short amount of time. if you post more than 20 posts in a 1 hour period, you will be issued a warning, and if this continues, it will be a ban, and if further actions, then a permanent ip ban, and isp ban.

Rule Violation
*Minor offense 1 point/expires 60 days | Severe offense 6 points/expires 60 days
Threads and posts that violate the GameBattles Forum Rules will be deleted from the forums, and additional penalties may be applied at the moderator's/administrator's discretion. Re-posting deleted violations (yours or those of others) is also considered a violation. Posts and threads may be removed at any time and for any reason at the sole discretion of Irom and its designated moderators. User accounts may be warned, suspended, or revoked at any time and for any reason at the sole discretion of Irom and its designated moderators without notification. All determinations of what is "acceptable" and "unacceptable" content will be determined solely by Irom and whoever it designates as moderators. The decision of the moderators/administrators may be contested by submitting a ticket to the "N/A" arena. Intentional, repeated, or severe violations will be cause for the banning of your account, the use of the forums from your IP address, or from your entire ISP. Irom may contact your ISP or other relevant parties concerning your activities.

Violation of these rules can result in the suspension or loss of your account.

Evading a suspension will only lengthen it.

Use of multiple accounts to avoid suspension from infraction history is forbidden.

* The infraction system used in these forums is a tool used by the moderators to help enforce the posting rules you see listed above. When a rule is broken, an infraction is issued against the users account. Depending on the specific rule broken, and the severity of the offense, points are assessed to the users account which can accumulate to a point that can cause a suspension, or even a permanent ban from the forums.

It's a somewhat complex system, but here's basicly how it works:

Each infraction has an expiration time. When the infraction expires, the associated points are removed from the user's point total and the user's infraction points are recalculated.

At 4 infractions, and every infraction thereafter, expired or not, will result in a 7 day suspension.
6 points will cause a 30 day suspension.

Expiration times are cumulative for the same infraction, so for instance you receive a spamming infraction, and the following day you receive another spamming infraction, both will be on your record for a total of 119 days. (59 days + 60 days=119 days)
